Welcome
Entwood Bonsai is Maine's largest and oldest bonsai nursery. We began offering bonsai trees in 1995 as a result of a facinating hobby which was begun in 1986 and had grown out of hand. We offer an ever changing selection of bonsai as we search for new (ancient) and exotic varieties including tropical, flowering and fruit bearing species as well as traditional Japanese varieties.
It's Spring! and we are back to our regular business hours:
Friday & Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm
(or by appointment).
New for 2009!!!!
In addition to our bonsai, we are now growing 10" and 12" hanging baskets and vegetable transplants in 3" pots.

Summertime Pruning
Bonsai trees are growing like mad now which means constant pruning is the order of the day. Constant pinching and pruning will help to develop nice full canopies. Don't be afraid! Jump right in and the tree will respond with healthy fuller growth....
Care of Outside Trees in Summer
Now that we are into the full swing of summer it is important to make sure that outside trees are watered frequently. The best location to grow bonsai is in dappled shade unless you don't mind -and are diligent about- frequent waterings.
