Beginning Bonsai Workshop

Bonsai is the ancient art of creating, training and growing trees in pots or trays. In these afternoon workshops, we will explore some of the history, the spiritual and meditative influences, the elements of design used in creating a bonsai, and the cultural requirements for keeping your bonsai healthy and growing.

All participants will successfully create their own tropical or temperate bonsai to take home at the end of the day. Participants will gain hands on experience in root pruning, preparing the pots for planting, top pruning, design decision making, and planting and mossing their own trees.

Cost for the workshop is $45.00, which includes all materials required for the creation of a finished bonsai valued from $20.00 to $25.00. Class size is limited to 6-8 people. Pre-registration and a deposit of $20.00 is required and will guarantee your place in the workshop.

Please send a deposit of $20.00 for each person wishing to attend to our address here or contact us for more information.

Bonsai tip

Maples, beech and elms are varieties which can be leaf pruned now in order to encourage smaller leaves to develop.
